Back by popular demand, our resident “Plant Lady” Debbe V. spent days preparing the greenhouse for this open house event! She brought in tons of green & flowering plants, cactus, succulents, air plants, you name it. We also had tons of container options available and of course Debbe’s expert advice to guide customers through their DIY project.
This Wine & Design class took on a Japanese flair with these trending kokedama designs. Never heard of kokedama? You will! This unique style from the Far East is getting noticed by floral design influencers & trendsetters all over social media, including Martha Stewart!
Our first ever Wedding Weekend Floral Design Classes was a huge hit! We kicked it off Friday afternoon with our Wine & Design: Dreamy Bridal Bouquets. Students learned several popular bouquet variations and some neat tricks along the way, ending up with breathtaking blush-toned hand tied bouquets to take home.
So many brides we talk to dream of carrying a rustic sunflower bouquet down the aisle. The sunflower is a fan favorite and we thought it was time for a design class dedicated to this perennial flower
People just love the island inspired look of tropical flowers & greens! Guest instructor & well known local designer Brian Vetter, AAF, AzMF, AIFD, PCFI, showed his class how to blend this spectacular flora & fauna into breathtaking arrangements.
Students designed lovely desert landscapes under the direction of team member Debbe V. aka “Plant Lady.” Succulents were the star of the show along with colored sand, river rocks, wood chips and more, all set in a glass bubble bowl for maximum visibility.
Our summer Wine & Design series continued with a floral crown design class. Team member Debbe V walked the class through the steps of prep & design for these trending halos that are perfect for brides, bridesmaids & flower girls.
Our first ever Kids Design Class was such a hit, we added another one! Team member Lindsay led the kids and showed them how to create a colorful, seasonal arrangement in cute pastel vases and learn about flower prep and handling.
Team member and recent Employee of the Month Krista walked the class through floral design steps to create a sunny summer bouquet and also showed them the fine art of bow making with several different bow styles suitable for any occasion.
Who doesn’t love the timeless beauty of the classic red rose? Well known local designer Brian Vetter, AAF, AzMF, AIFD, PCFI, walked the class through the steps of care, prep & design for several variations and created a stunning red rose arrangement!
Team lead Rheanna walked the class through the basic principles of floral design including: proportion, scale, harmony, rhythm, balance, unity and emphasis.
Just in time for Father’s Day we hosted a class that Dad was sure to like. The class created their succulent gardens in masculine stone containers. These would look great on dad’s desk or work station.

Rheanna’s students had a great time thinking “inside the box” – the hat box, that is! If you’re active on Pinterest or Instagram, you’ve probably seen those adorable arrangements sitting pretty in a charming hat box.
ho doesn’t have a ton of containers at home in various colors, shapes & sizes? This class learned how to create pretty, unique designs that would work in most any type of container.

During Mother’s Day week, Arizona Family Florist held a Tulip Sale & Donation Drive benefiting UMOM New Day Centers. We sold our popular 10 stem tulip bunches for just $6 with 50% of the proceeds being donated.
This class was so different and the students did a great job recreating Brian’s design model. Topiary is such a distinctive design look and skill is needed to achieve it.
Another sold out Wine & Design! Team member Rheanna created a super springy/summery look using bright sunny sunflowers.
